Follow this step-by-step guide to launch your Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) automation through the Brij platform.
Prerequisites
Before enabling your SFMC automation, confirm that it’s included in your current Brij plan.
Navigate to Automations → New Automation.
Check that the SFMC automation is not grayed out.
If it is grayed out, reach out to your Brij representative to learn how you can upgrade your plan to access it.
Setting up the SFMC integration
Step 1: Choose SFMC as your automation
- Go to "Automations"
- Click "New Automation"
- Select "SFMC" as the integration
- Enter an automation name, then click "Next"
Step 2: Authentication
- Click the "Authentication" dropdown
- Pick "New Authentication"
- Select Authentication Type as "oauth2"
- Enter your SFMC credentials (see how to find your SFMC credentials here)
- Client ID → Client Id
- Client Secret → Client Secret
- Auth URL → Authentication Base URI
- Click "Next"
Step 3: Action
- Keep the default values for "Action Name" and "Version"
- Click "Next"
Step 4: Filter
- Choose which experiences will send data from Brij to SFMC
- Click "Next"
Step 5: Trigger & Properties
- Choose the events to send from Brij to SFMC
- Select the event properties to include with each event
Step 6: Configuration
- Configure notifications for automation failures. For example, if the automation fails 50 times in a row, it will automatically pause and send an email notification to the specified email address
- In the SFMC Settings section, enter your Base URL (this should be the REST Base URI from your SFMC API Credentials). Then, provide a name for the Data Extension—this is the database where Brij data will be displayed inside SFMC
That's it!
