What Is the Discount Module?
The Discount Module lets you offer a discount code to customers as part of their experience. When a customer scans your QR code or visits your experience, they can receive a discount — after signing up with their email or phone number.
There are three ways to deliver a discount:
🛍️ ShopifyGenerated Codes Best for Shopify stores. Each customer gets their own unique, one-time-use code automatically generated by Shopify. | 🔁 SingleReusable Code One code shared with everyone. Simple to set up — great for a universal promo like WELCOME10. | 📋 Imported Listof Codes You upload a list of unique codes. Each customer gets a different code from your list, one at a time. |
💡 Good to know
You can only add one Discount Module per experience. Plan which discount type fits your campaign before you begin.
Before You Start
Before adding the Discount Module, make sure you have the following ready:
- Your discount code(s) — depending on the type you choose: your Shopify parent code, a single promo code, or a CSV file with a list of codes.
- Registration in place — most brands ask customers to sign up first before receiving the discount. Make sure your Registration / Sign Up section is already set up in the experience.
- Shopify connected — only needed if you're using Shopify Generated Codes. Your Shopify store must already be connected to Brij.
How to Add the Discount Module
| 1 | Open your Experience Go to Experiences in your Brij dashboard and open the experience where you want to add a discount. |
| 2 | Go to the Modules section In the left sidebar, click on Modules. |
| 3 | Add a new module Click the + Add Module button and select Discount from the list. |
| 4 | Choose an existing module or create a new one A dropdown will appear. You can select a module you've already created, or click + New Module to build one from scratch. |

💡 Tip — Reuse modules across experiences
If you've already set up a discount for another experience, you can select it here instead of starting from scratch. Any changes you make to a shared module will apply everywhere it's used — so duplicate it first if you only want to change it for this experience.
Configuring Your Discount Module
Once you're inside the module editor, you'll fill in a few key fields. Here's what each one means:
The Discount Module editor — fill in the fields from top to bottom
Module Name (required)
This is an internal label only — your customers won't see it. Give it a clear name so you can find it later, for example: Summer Sale Discount or Welcome Offer.
Call to Action (required)
This is the heading your customer sees on the module button and header. Keep it friendly and clear, for example: Get exclusive discount!
Discount Type (required)
Choose one of the three options from the dropdown — Shopify Generated Codes, Single Reusable Code, or Imported List of Codes. The fields below will update based on what you select.
Discount Terms
Optional. Use this field to add any legal fine print about the discount (e.g., expiry dates, exclusions). You can also add clickable links here if you need to point customers to your full Terms & Conditions.
Setting Up: Shopify Generated Codes
Use this option if your store runs on Shopify. Each customer who registers will automatically receive their own unique, one-time-use discount code — no manual work needed on your end.
Shopify Generated Codes configuration — select your parent discount code and set a destination page
Fields to fill in:
- Parent Discount Code — select the Shopify discount code you want to use as the base. Brij will generate a unique child code for each customer from this parent. (Important: the discount code name in Shopify cannot have spaces — use underscores or hyphens, e.g. SUMMER_SALE.)
- Destination Page — choose which page on your website the customer lands on when they click the discount link. The default is your homepage.
- Button CTA — the label on the button the customer clicks to use their discount. Keep it short — maximum 30 characters. For example: Shop Now or Redeem Discount.

✅ How it works for your customer
After the customer registers, Brij automatically creates a unique code just for them. They see a button that takes them straight to your store with the discount already applied at checkout.
Setting Up: Single Reusable Code
Use this option when you want every customer to receive the same discount code — for example, a sitewide promo like WELCOME10. This works with Shopify and non-Shopify stores alike.
Fields to fill in:
- Discount Code — type in your discount code exactly as it should appear to the customer (e.g., SUMMER20 or LOYALTY15).
✅ How it works for your customer
After the customer registers, they see the discount code and can copy it to use at checkout. Everyone who registers sees the same code — it never expires from the Brij side.
💡 Not just for Shopify
This type works for any store — Amazon seller codes, brand website promo codes, or any other platform. You manage the code's validity on your own store or marketplace.
Setting Up: Imported List of Codes
Use this option when you have a batch of unique codes that you want to hand out one at a time — for example, gift card codes or single-use vouchers. Each customer gets a different code from your list.
Step 1 — Create or select a code list
When you choose Imported List of Codes as your discount type, a Code List field will appear. Click it to:
- Select an existing list you've already uploaded, or
- Create a new list and give it a name.
Step 2 — Upload your codes
Prepare a CSV file where each row contains one code. Then in the list panel, click Upload to import your file. Brij will check for duplicates and formatting issues and let you know if anything needs fixing.
💡 CSV format tip
Your CSV file should have one code per line with no headers or extra columns — just the codes themselves. Example:DISC001DISC002DISC003
Step 3 — Save and you're done
Once your codes are uploaded, save the module. Brij will automatically hand out the next available code to each new customer who registers.
✅ How it works for your customer
After the customer registers, Brij picks the next unused code from your list and shows it to them immediately. That code is then marked as claimed and will not be given to anyone else.
⚠️ When all codes run out
Once every code in the list has been claimed, the next customer will see a message letting them know all codes have been taken. Upload more codes to the list before this happens to avoid interruption.
Requiring Registration Before the Discount
Most brands choose to show the discount only after a customer has signed up with their email or phone. This way, every person who receives a discount is captured in your database — ready for future marketing.
To set this up:
- Make sure your experience has a Registration / Sign Up module already added.
- Place the Discount Module after the Registration module in your experience flow.
- Customers will be asked to sign up first, and the discount will appear immediately after they submit their details.
💡 Why this matters
Gating the discount behind registration means you capture the customer's contact details before giving away the offer. It also prevents people from claiming a code without engaging with your brand.
