This article explains how brands with existing QR codes can redirect them to Brij — without reprinting.
Already have QR codes on existing packaging? If your current QR codes point to a dynamic URL, they can be redirected to a Brij URL instantly — no reprinting required. Static QR codes cannot be redirected and would need to be reprinted.
How to tell the difference
|
Dynamic QR code ✓ Created with a QR platform (e.g. Bitly, QR Tiger, Flowcode) ✓ Has a short or branded redirect URL (e.g. bit.ly/xyz) ✓ Destination URL can be changed after printing ✓ Usually has a dashboard or account tied to it ✓ Can be redirected to Brij without reprinting |
Static QR code ✕ URL is encoded directly into the QR pattern itself ✕ Points directly to a full URL (e.g. yourbrand.com/product) ✕ Destination cannot be changed once printed ✕ No account or platform needed to generate ✕ Must be reprinted to use with Brij |
How to redirect a dynamic QR code to Brij
- Log in to your QR code platform (e.g. Bitly, QR Tiger, Flowcode).
- Locate the QR code linked to your packaging.
- Update the destination URL to your Brij experience URL.
- Save the change — it takes effect instantly, no reprinting needed.
Note: If you're unsure whether your QR codes are dynamic or static, check with whoever printed your packaging or the vendor who supplied your QR codes. Your Brij onboarding team can also help you assess compatibility.
FAQ
Can I redirect QR codes from any platform to Brij?
Yes — as long as the QR code is dynamic, it can be redirected regardless of which platform generated it. You just need access to your account on that platform to update the destination URL.
Will my existing scans or analytics be affected?
Your previous scan data on the original platform will remain there. Going forward, new scans will be tracked in Brij's analytics dashboard.
What if my QR codes are static?
Static QR codes cannot be redirected. You would need to reprint your packaging with new QR codes that point directly to your Brij experience URL — or use a dynamic QR code platform for future print runs.
