This article explains the five registration management actions available in Brij: Edit Registration, Register a User, Remove Registration, Archive Registration, and Delete Customer. Each action has a distinct purpose — understanding the difference will help you manage customer records accurately.
Overview of Actions
- Edit Registration: Update registration properties and approval status (not customer details)
- Remove Registration: Remove a customer's registration from a specific experience, while keeping their email on file
- Register a User: Add a new product registration to an existing email.
- Archive Registration: Hide a registration from view without deleting it
- Delete Customer: Permanently remove all traces of a customer profile from the database
Edit Registration
Edit Registration allows you to update the properties tied to a specific registration. You can change:
- Serial number
- Purchase date
- Purchase channel
- Order number
- Quantity
- Receipt (upload a new one if missing)
- Approval status (Approve or Deny)
What you cannot change: Customer details — first name, last name, email address, phone number, survey responses and address. To update any of these, you must delete the customer and re-register them from scratch.
How to Edit a Registration
- Navigate to the customer's registration in Brij.
- Click the arrow to the left of the customer's name and you’ll see the experience they registered below. Click the three vertical dots on the right and select Edit Registration.
- Update the desired fields (serial number, purchase date, receipt, etc.).
- Save your changes.
Register a User
- Navigate to the customer's registration in Brij.
- Click the three vertical dots on the right and select Register a User.
- Below the customer name and email address, add the last 4 digits of the Experience URL (aka slug).
- Click Submit.
- Follow the prompts to register the customer under the new experience.
Remove Registration
Remove Registration deletes the customer's relationship with a specific experience — including their name, phone number, address, and receipt details — but keeps their email address on file in Brij's system.
When the customer returns and enters the same email, Brij will recognize them, log them in automatically, and prompt them to fill in their details again.
When to Use Remove Registration
- The customer registered within the wrong experience
How to Remove a Registration
- Go to the customer's registration.
- Click the arrow to the left of the customer's name and you’ll see the experience they registered below. Click the three vertical dots on the right and select Remove Registration.
- Confirm the action. The registration details are deleted, but the email is retained.
Archive Registration
Archive removes a registration from your default view without deleting it. The record is moved to the Archive filter and can be restored at any time.
How to Archive a Registration
- Go to the customer's registration.
- Click the arrow to the left of the customer's name and you’ll see the experience they registered below. Click the three vertical dots on the right and select Archive.
- The record disappears from your active view and moves to the Archive section.
How to Restore an Archived Registration
- Navigate to the Archive filter in your registrations view.
- Find the record and click Restore using the 3 vertical dots on the right.
- The registration returns to active status.
Delete Customer
Delete Customer permanently removes every trace of the customer from Brij's database — their profile, email, registration details, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
Use this when a customer registered with incorrect personal details (name, email, address, phone number) and needs to start completely fresh.
Before You Delete
Important: Save all relevant customer and registration details before deleting — serial number, purchase date, receipt, order number, and contact info. Once deleted, this information is gone and you will need to collect it again from the customer.
How to Delete a Customer
- Go to the customer's registration.
- Click the three vertical dots on the right and select Delete Customer.
- Enter the customer's email address to confirm you are deleting the correct record.
- Click Permanently Delete. The customer can now re-register as a brand new user.
FAQ
What's the difference between Remove Registration and Delete Customer?
Remove Registration deletes the customer's registration details for a specific product experience but keeps their email in the system. Delete Customer removes all data — including the email — entirely from the database.
Can a customer re-register after being deleted?
Yes. After deletion, the customer can register again as a completely new user. Their email will not be recognized by the system.
Can a customer re-register after Remove Registration?
Yes. When they return and enter their email, Brij will recognize them and log them in. They can then fill in their registration details again.
What happens if I archive a registration?
The record is hidden from your default view but is not deleted. You can find it in the Archive filter and restore it at any time.
